Whole mace is selected by blade integrity, natural colour and cleanliness. The percentage of broken material is a meaningful part of the specification; colour alone does not define the grade.

Harvest & arrival

Arrival within six months of harvest depends on the spice’s harvest season and lot availability. The quotation confirms the harvest period and planned arrival window for your destination.

Blade integrity

Assess whole blades and quantify broken material by weight. Specify the acceptable percentage and sampling point.

Natural colour

Agree an acceptable orange-red to amber colour range using a representative sample. Check for darkened or damaged material.

Cleanliness

Inspect for shell pieces, stalks, extraneous matter and insect damage; agree defect tolerances.

Moisture & aroma

Record moisture and assess a clean, warm aroma without mustiness. Keep the product dry and protect it from foreign odours.

Food safety

Agree aflatoxin, pesticide-residue and microbiological requirements for the destination, with lot-specific supporting analysis.

Packing & shipment

Protect the quality.
Define the consignment.

Discuss 5 kg or 10 kg food-grade inner packs in protective cartons. Avoid excessive compression; the packing specification should protect blade integrity as well as moisture condition.

The quotation records whole-blade selection, broken-material and colour tolerances, moisture, net weight and carton arrangement. Evaluate the packing alongside the product sample.
