QUALITY PARAMETERS
Harvest & arrival: Arrival within six months of harvest depends on the spice’s harvest season and lot availability. The quotation confirms the harvest period and planned arrival window for your destination.
Form & sizing: Whole dried kernels, shell removed. Record size distribution or count per kilogram for the lot offered.
Internal condition: Cut representative kernels to inspect soundness and signs of insect damage or mould. Agree defect and broken-kernel tolerances.
Cleanliness: Assess shell fragments, extraneous matter and surface condition. Specify the permitted percentages in the purchase specification.
Moisture & aroma: Record lot moisture and evaluate the warm nutmeg aroma. Specify volatile-oil analysis if relevant to the intended application.
Food safety: Agree aflatoxin, pesticide-residue and microbiological requirements for the destination, with testing tied to the proposed lot.

PACKING
Request a quotation for 10 kg or 25 kg food-grade lined packs with a suitable outer carton or bag. Dry handling, seal integrity and protection from odour transfer are part of the packing brief.
